A notification destination is an email list or a Slack channel that receives alerts. Spike detection rules and domain expiration notices define which destinations receive the alerts.

## Before you start

- To see destinations, you need the `notifications.read` permission. To create, edit or delete them, you need `notifications.write`. The **Tenant Admin** role has both. **Tenant User** has read-only access.
- For a Slack channel, you need a Slack Incoming Webhook URL.

## Create a destination

1. Go to **Administração** (Administration) > **Notificações** (Notifications) > **Locais** (Destinations).
2. Select **Novo local** (New destination).
3. Under **Tipo** (Type), choose **Lista de e-mails** (Email list) or **Canal do Slack** (Slack channel).
4. Under **Nome** (Name), enter a name for the destination. Rules identify the destination by this name.
5. Fill in the fields for the chosen type:

   | Type | Fields |
   |---|---|
   | **Lista de e-mails** | **E-mails** (Emails): the addresses that receive the alerts from rules that use this destination. |
   | **Canal do Slack** | **Canal** (Channel): only identifies the destination. The webhook defines the target channel. **URL do webhook** (Webhook URL): the Incoming Webhook URL, in the `https://hooks.slack.com/services/…` format. |

6. Select **Criar local** (Create destination).

The type cannot be changed after creation. To use another type, create a new destination.

## Test a destination

On the destination, select **Enviar teste** (Send test). For an email list, Advisor sends a test email. For a Slack channel, it posts a test message to the channel.

## Where each destination is used

The list shows which rules use each destination. Destinations are selected in two locations:

| Where | How |
|---|---|
| Spike detection rules | In the rule's **Então avise…** (Then notify) step. See [Create a rule](/en/advisor/deteccao-de-picos/criar-regra/). |
| Domain expiration notices | In the **Avisos de vencimento** (Expiration notices) card. See [Expirations](/en/advisor/administracao/vencimentos/). |

## Edit or delete a destination

- To change the name, emails or webhook, select **Editar** (Edit) and then **Salvar** (Save).
- To remove it, select **Excluir** (Delete) and confirm. Deletion cannot be undone.

:::caution
A destination in use cannot be deleted. If any rule uses the destination, Advisor shows the **Local em uso** (Destination in use) notice with the list of those rules. Unlink the destination from those rules and delete it again.
